Good news out of Louisiana! I’ve been in touch with a friend who’s a crawfish farmer and there are positive signs about the upcoming crawfish season. Lots of mama crawfish are coming out, loaded with babies. The process of growing from these miniature crawfish to a harvestable size is around 6-8 weeks if the weather remains relatively warm. Compared to a year ago, the season ahead looks much, much better. Hopefully that means an earlier start and lower prices. We’ll start selling live crawfish again in Dothan as soon as we can!
